Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. Her siblings include two half brothers, one half-sister, as well as one younger brother and sister. The Miley's parents chose her hoping that she would succeed. Her childhood nickname, Smiley, due to her infectious personality later changed to Miley. Her father was an influential Democratic politician whose name was Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her studies through Heritage Elementary School located in Tennessee. After she was eight years old the family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus's father Billy Ray took a role in the TV show Doc (2001). At this point, Cyrus also decided to take on the role of an actor. Her first performance was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). Then, in 2003 she starred in one small part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus played the title role for Hannah Montana (2007), the Disney TV show about the life of a girl who has a double existence as an actress. Once again, her father joined her on screen. The performance was huge and record sales, sell-out tours and merchandise deals were followed. Cyrus rapidly became a cult figure for teens. Cyrus shifted into new roles after the success and the fame in Hannah Montana 2006. She played Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi the Mood, in The Last Song in 2010 and Lola with Demi in LOL in 2012.
